About this album
One hundred years ago, Lev Sergeyevich Termen introduced the world to a musical instrument whose sounds arise in an almost ghostly manner: produced by hand, yet without touch — an enchantingly hovering, ephemeral song, moving, crystal clear, fragile. What initially seemed like the beginning of a great career in classical music came to an abrupt end when John Cage delivered his devastating verdict on the use of the theremin in contemporary music.
